Who operates this site

OvertimeWise is an independent educational website maintained by the OvertimeWise Team. We provide calculators and explanations, not personal tax, legal or payroll advice. This policy applies to overtimewise.com. For questions about this policy or a privacy request, use our contact page.

Your calculator entries

Wages, working hours, filing choices and calculated amounts are processed in your browser. Our calculator code does not submit these financial values to a server, store them in a database or save them to local storage. Reloading the page resets the calculation. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for a Social Security number, tax return, W-2 upload or banking information.

This does not mean visiting the website is invisible to our hosting, measurement or advertising providers. The services below can process connection information, page visits and device or browser information. Calculator content is specifically masked for Clarity recordings, and financial values are excluded from our custom analytics events.

Hosting and basic access information

Vercel hosts the site and delivers its files. A request to the website can expose your IP address, requested URL, browser information, approximate request time and referring page to the hosting infrastructure. These records support delivery, security and troubleshooting. See Vercel’s privacy policy for its practices. Our application does not maintain a user account or a calculator-history database.

Plausible page measurement

We load Plausible to understand page visits and referral patterns. Our integration does not send calculator field values or custom financial properties to Plausible. This page measurement runs separately from the optional Google Analytics and Clarity preference. Plausible describes its standard analytics as cookie-free and aggregate; see its data policy for the information it processes and how it produces visit statistics.

Optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after you explicitly allow optional analytics in the footer. Google Analytics measures page visits and tool usage. Our custom calculator events contain the event name, calculator name and, where applicable, selected tax year—not wage, hour, income or calculated amount fields. Google may process technical information and analytics identifiers. Google signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled in our GA4 configuration.

Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings of how people navigate and interact with the site. The calculator containers, including inputs and visible results, are marked for masking. Do not submit personal financial documents through any feedback channel. We do not describe session recordings as anonymous: providers may process identifiers and technical information. Your optional analytics preference is stored locally on this browser. You can change it using “Analytics & recording settings” or “Turn off analytics & recordings” in the footer. Turning analytics off stops optional Google Analytics and Clarity and reloads the page to unload recording code, which also resets unsaved calculator entries. Clearing website storage removes the saved choice. This preference does not control Google’s separate advertising consent message.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

Google AdSense is integrated into the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Depending on your choices, region and provider settings, advertising services may process cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, ad interactions and browsing information.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center. Information about participating vendors and additional opt-out choices is available at YourAdChoices. Where a Google advertising privacy message is available, use that message and its privacy settings to consent, refuse or manage advertising purposes and partners. The optional analytics controls on this website are separate. You can also manage cookies in your browser, which may affect preferences and website functionality.

Messages you send to us

If you email us, your email provider, our forwarding or mailbox provider, and the OvertimeWise Team process your sender address, message and attachments to handle the request. Please send only what is needed: a page URL, the issue and a fictional example are usually enough. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank details, full tax forms or another person’s private information.

We use correspondence to respond to questions, investigate corrections and address privacy requests. We do not promise a fixed response time. We keep correspondence only as needed for those purposes and any applicable recordkeeping obligations. Provider logs and analytics have their own retention settings; this site does not promise a single deletion deadline for every provider.

Your choices and requests

You may ask about information contained in correspondence with us, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern through the contact page. Available rights depend on your location and circumstances. We may need enough information to identify a request without collecting unnecessary financial details. Provider-specific data requests may also need to be made directly to the provider.

Our service providers may process information outside your country. This website is intended for adults researching work and tax questions, and is not designed to collect children’s personal information. External source links lead to sites with their own policies. Material changes to our practices will be reflected here with an updated date.
